What is the Penn Champions Club membership program?

The Penn Champions Club membership program is our way of acknowledging the supporters of our annual funds (excluding Basketball Varsity Fund) and the incredible impact they have on our student-athletes with their philanthropy. On July 1, 2024, Penn Athletics introduced an updated annual giving program consisting of six different giving levels, each having stewardship experiences that aim to demonstrate Penn’s gratitude for investing in our programs. What is the Penn Basketball membership program? 

The Penn Basketball membership program is our way of acknowledging donors to our Basketball Varsity Fund and recognizing our most loyal Penn Basketball supporters. On July 1, 2024, Penn introduced an updated basketball annual giving program consisting of seven different giving levels, each having specific stewardship experiences that aim to demonstrate Penn’s gratitude for investing in our men’s and women’s basketball student-athletes. What is the difference between the Penn Champions Club and the Penn Basketball Club?

The Penn Champions Club recognizes prior fiscal year gifts to all Penn Athletics annual funds with the exception of the Basketball Varsity Fund. The Penn Basketball Club recognizes individuals who supported the Basketball Varsity Fund in the prior fiscal year.

If I make a gift in FY24 to an athletics annual fund, am I a member of the Penn Champions Club or the Penn Basketball Club? 

Yes! Depending which annual fund you supported, membership in the Penn Champions Club or the Penn Basketball Club are a thank you for your giving from the prior fiscal year. For example, if you made a gift in FY24 (July 1, 2023 – June 30, 2024) you will be recognized in FY25 (July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025). 

How do I know what membership levels I am eligible for? 

All membership levels are organized by donation level, depending on the amount of your gift, you will receive corresponding stewardship experiences at the level of your donation. The membership levels are outlined in each membership tab by giving level. There is also an image of the full levels displayed on each membership tab. 

If I make a gift to an endowment fund or capital project, am I a member of the Penn Champions Club or the Penn Basketball Club? 

No, the Penn Champions Club and the Penn Basketball Club is for annual fund support only. Annual funds are the lifeblood of our programs and our top fundraising priority each year, so to become a member of the Penn Champions Club or the Penn Basketball Club, you must make an annual fund gift. 

If I give to multiple annual funds, what level will I be recognized at? 

You will be recognized at the level of your cumulative annual fund giving. If your giving qualifies you for membership within both the Penn Champions Club and Penn Basketball Club, a Penn Champions Club team member will reach out to discuss your membership level.

Game Day Hospitality

What is R. Tait McKenzie Society?

R. Tait McKenzie Society members have access to our hospitality tent including food and beverages for all home football games. RTM includes those who make a gift of $5,000 or more in support of an annual fund. 

What gift amount do I need to make to be a R. Tait McKenzie Society member for the 2024 football season?

A minimum gift of $5,000 will be required for membership in RTM. The goal of this giving society is to create a philanthropic community that provides much needed resources to our athletics teams to ensure we are delivering on our promise to provide a first-class athletic and academic experience. 

What is Above the Rim Society?

Above the Rim members have access to food and beverages for all home Men’s Basketball games and featured Women’s Basketball games the hour prior to the start of the game as well as during half-time in the Kozloff Family Room. ATR includes those who make a gift of $5,000 or more in support of an annual fund. 

What gift amount do I need to make to be an Above the Rim Society member for the 2024-2025 basketball season?

A minimum gift of $5,000 will be required for membership in ATR. The goal of this giving society is to create a philanthropic community that provides much needed resources to our men’s and women’s basketball programs to ensure we are delivering on our promise to provide a first-class athletic and academic experience.
